For Clinicians

One of the things I have valued the most in my work is working with talented clinicians who have provided supportive supervision, therapy and consultation.

I am very committed to ongoing personal and professional development and seek to offer to others the guidance and support that have benfitted and continue to benefit me. My early training was with a relational psychodynamic supervisor, a psychoanalytic supervisor, and an advanced EMDR consultant.

When I started training in Internal Family Systems therapy, I started personal therapy with an advanced practitioner and now also work with an IFS consultant. Doing your own "work" with your parts is integral to being a good IFS therapist, and is strongly recommended to anyone wanting to use the IFS model with their clients. I have personal experience in my own therapy with all the forms of therapy I practice. In IFS, this work is particularly important. Understanding Self energy is an important part of IFS therapy and being a therapist. I started working as a therapist for therapists when I worked in small rural communities in Colorado and have been doing it since. It is particularly rewarding to be able to support therapists' growth and healing as they support their clients. I have a soft spot for rural therapists who often live in such small communities that the only other therapists are their colleagues. I offer online sessions to them.

Therapy for therapists.

Working through the challenges of our field in light of the personal challenges we face in life is so important. I have been working with therapists for many years. There are a number of important things to consider in finding a therapist for therapists and other service professionals.

Consultation.

I offer consultation in working with complex trauma and CPTSD, crisis situations, case consultation, general practice guidance, and in the integration of EMDR with IFS. Although my office is located in Colorado, online consultation can take place no matter where you are located.

“Therapists are never “done” with growth, they are simply people who should be dedicated to learning as much about themselves and others as they possibly can. The best therapists are fully human and engage in the struggles of life. Our own failures help us to remain open to the struggles of others; our personal victories give us optimism and courage to inspire those struggling with their lives.”
