Personal Growth and Change
You might be feeling stuck in patterns, unable to understand why you sabotage yourself, or feeling out of touch with the person you know you can be. Maybe you want to know and understand yourself better so that you can make the best choices in your family, relationships or work. Do you ask yourself “What now?”
All of us go through times of change and growth throughout our life, including times where we don’t feel we have the insight or maybe the tools we need internally to know what step to take next. What will bring us more joy, more contentment, more connection? What is truly most important? We are changing constantly throughout our lives, and at times we come to a new place of change or growth that we have not quite settled into yet. At these moments, the choices we make can feel momentous and overwhelming,
On the verge of change…
You don’t feel as close as you want to your partner, or your family or friends.
You feel unsettled and stuck, but you don’t know why or what to do about it.
You know you need a change but can’t commit to the next step and don’t know why.
You are distressed by the state of the world and want to do something, but don’t know what you have to contribute or how to do it.
You are struggling with a major life decision.
These are times when having a supportive, confidential place to explore options, feelings and memories can be immensely helpful. I provide the space to learn about and explore the world that lives within you. Maybe that sounds daunting or different, but the process of self exploration can be enormously helpful in finding your joy and contentment in life. I can help you navigate life changes, decisions, and set the stage for your growth and transformation.
Leadership from within
The answers are within you. You have a wealth of knowledge, wisdom and lived experience that can give you the guidance you seek in your life. But how do you access them? My approach to psychotherapy is to support and guide you in exploring your internal world through integrative, welcoming and evidence-based approaches. I don’t give you any answers, but I support you through the process through such approaches as IFS (internal family systems therapy), mindfulness and meditation skills, along with compassionate listening and reflection, so that you can build your insight and access your internal wisdom about your life and your needs.
I believe that all parts of you, even the self-sabotaging parts, are working (though sometimes in misguided ways) to help you. By seeing those parts of you clearly, understanding them fully, embracing their good intentions, and learning to work with them, you can lead yourself into your future with intention and compassion.
I have done and continue to do this work myself. Ten years ago I was trained in insight-oriented, relational psychodynamic psychotherapy. More recently, I have begun my own journey with IFS, learning a new way to explore the inner terrain of my personality and mind. I support my clients in doing the same. Life is a journey, and we never really reach the destination, but along the way you can learn the process of knowing and understanding yourself so that you can make deeply informed choices for yourself and your life.
Take the next step forward.
